Educational Visit of Ukrainian Legal School Representatives to Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania)

A visit to Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania, took place for faculty members from five higher education institutions as part of the Professional Development Program within the Erasmus+ Project “Modernization of Legal Education to Support Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic Integration” (EU4UA).

The delegation included Ukrainian scholars from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia National University.

Sharing experience is the best way to achieve the goal, especially when it comes to countries that have already gone through the EU/EU integration process, such as Lithuania. One of the objectives of the project is to modernize the programs of basic legal disciplines in order to provide legal support for Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

During the visit, the Ukrainian scholars had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with advanced practices in legal education in Lithuania, discuss the best approaches to integrating European standards into legal programs, and explore opportunities for further cooperation between universities. Meetings with colleagues from Vytautas Magnus University not only facilitated an exchange of experiences but also helped identify key areas for improving educational programs in Ukraine. Thanks to such initiatives, Ukraine will be able to bring its legal education closer to European standards, which will be an important step towards further integration into the European community.

The coordinator of this project is Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, whose representatives, together with colleagues from Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia National University, visited Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania, from September 23-27.

The visit is being implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ Project “Modernization of Legal Education to Support Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic Integration” (EU4UA).
