Research interests

He was born on September 26, 1936 in the city of Lviv. In 1959 he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of Lviv University. He worked as a legal adviser at the university, from December 1959 – Assistant Professor of Theory and History of State and Law. In 1966 he defended his dissertation on the topic: “Galician Socialist Soviet Republic of 1920.” In 1968 he received the academic title of associate professor.
From 1968 to 1972 he was Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law.
In 1990 he was elected head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law by the Academic Council of the University. In 1991, for fruitful scientific and educational-methodical activity of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Higher Education (Moscow) he was awarded the academic title of professor (diploma № 13 / 960p from 26.XII.1991). In September 2004 he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Professor of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
By the Decree of the President of Ukraine №549 in 2008 he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Lawyer of Ukraine. He was awarded a jubilee university medal on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Franko’s anniversary, is a member of the editorial board of the legal journal “Law of Ukraine”.
At the invitation of the Catholic University of Lublin, he taught the course History of State and Law of Ukraine at the Faculty of Law (Poland) in Polish.
Under his leadership, 18 graduate students and applicants defended their dissertations.
Author and co-author of 13 monographs, 43 textbooks and manuals, more than 150 articles, materials, reviews. A total of about 200 positions, with a volume of more than 560 other sheets.
