Nor Vasyl Tymofiiovych graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of Lviv State University. Ivan Franko in 1967 and after two and a half years of work as a People’s Judge of Lutsk district of Volyn region, he entered in 1969 to graduate school at Lviv University at the Department of Civil Law and Procedure. In October 1972 he defended his dissertation on “Property liability for damage caused by improper actions in the field of administrative management and the actions of the inquiry, preliminary investigation, prosecutor’s office and court” and since then has been teaching at Lviv University. He was awarded the title of associate professor in 1978. In 1976 he headed the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure of Lviv University and since then his pedagogical and scientific activities are related to criminal procedure and judicial law. In the 70’s scientific activity Nora VT related to the problem of property liability for damage caused by illegal acts of power, which is devoted to a series of scientific articles (12) and a fundamental monograph “Property liability for improper actions of officials” (Lviv, 1974, – 218 p.), as well as a monograph “Problems of the theory and practice of judicial evidence” (Lviv, 1978, – 112 p.).

In the 80’s he created a conceptual doctrine on the protection of property rights and interests of victims of crime by criminal procedure and the relevant legal school. He has published more than 50 scientific papers on this issue, including fundamental monograph “Protection of property rights in criminal proceedings” (Kyiv, 1989, – 278 p.) and defended under his leadership 7 PhD theses, which created a well-known in Ukraine legal school to protect the rights and interests of victims of criminal offenses by criminal procedure . In October 1989, V.T. Nor defended his doctoral dissertation on specialty 12.00.09 (criminal procedure and criminology) on the topic: “Legal and theoretical foundations of protection of property rights violated by crime victims in criminal proceedings.” The academic title of professor was awarded in 1990.

Since the 90’s scientific activity Nora VT associated mainly with the problems of the rule of law and the reform of the judiciary. 26 scientific works are devoted to this problem. He took an active part in the constitutional process, organized scientific conferences on the constitutional process and drafts of the Concept of Judicial and Legal Reform in Ukraine (1992). and a member of the Coordinating Council for Judicial and Legal Reform under the President of Ukraine (Presidential Decree № 1128/97 of October 8, 1997. He was a member of the working group on the draft Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 21.03.96 and 1999 ), which was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in May 2003.

Professor Nor W.T. in 1992 in co-authorship with MM Mikheenko and VP Shibik publishes the first Ukrainian latest textbook for law students “Criminal Procedure of Ukraine” K .: “Lybid” 1992, – 380 p., And in 1999 his second revised and supplemented edition (K .: “Lybid”, 1999 – 536 p.). He edited the scientific-practical commentary of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (Kyiv, 1995 and the second edition – Kyiv, 1997), and is also a co-author of the scientific-practical commentary of the CPC of Ukraine, published in 2003, republished in 2004 and 2005. ) edited by VT Malyarenko and VG Goncharenko (Kyiv: Forum, 2003); as well as co-author and editor of the scientific and practical commentary on the new (2012) Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (2012). He is currently the author and co-author of more than 200 scientific papers, including 11 monographs and 25 textbooks and manuals. He has prepared 30 candidates of jurisprudence and is training 5 more, as well as 2 doctors of sciences and provides scientific advice to 3 more doctoral candidates.
Professor Nor W.T. is a member of the scientific councils of such leading legal journals as “Law of Ukraine”, “Lawyer”, “Bulletin of the Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine”, “Bulletin of Criminal Procedure”, “Journal of Civil and Criminal Procedure of the Supreme Court of Ukraine”, “Bulletin of Lviv University” ”. The series is legal, and heads the specialized scientific council at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv D 35.051.03, and is also a member of the specialized scientific council (doctoral) at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Nor VT headed the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure for more than 20 years, and since 1999 he has been heading the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminology. For eighteen years (from December 1980 to December 1991 and from May 1994 to March 2002) he headed the legal
