Biography

He was born on February 2, 1958 in the village of Hordynia, Sambir district, Lviv region. From 1976 to 1978 he served in the army. In 1978 he entered the first year of the Faculty of Law of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, graduating with honors in 1983. In the same year he began his career – first as head of the forensic laboratory, then (since 1985) – assistant to the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure. From 1988 to 1991 he studied at the graduate school of LNU named after Ivan Franko. In February 1992, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Law on the topic “Admission of the accused of his guilt in committing a crime (procedural, tactical, psychological issues).” Since 1991 – Assistant Professor of Criminal Law and Procedure; since 1993 associate professor of this department. ). In 1996 he was awarded the academic title of associate professor.

Since 1993 – Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Institute of Advanced Training and Retraining of Lviv University, which in 2003 was renamed the Institute of Postgraduate Education.
