23-25 березня на юридичному факультеті відбулися чергові лекції Школи американського права в Україні

Нашею гостею була професор Чикаго-Кент Коледжу права Maurine Neiberg. Професор Найберг спеціалізується у комп’ютерному праві, авторських правах, торговельних марках та інших питаннях сфери права інтелектуальної власності.

Нижче подаємо короткий огляд лекцій (англійською мовою):

The course covered the fundamentals of U.S. trademark law. We began by discussing the various theoretical principals underlying trademark law in the U.S. and how that theory drives trademark practice. We discussed the function of common law trademarks and the advantages and limitations of the federal trademark registration scheme. We explored current controversies in U.S. trademark law, including interaction with the First Amendment and the role and difficulties of protecting trademarks in the Internet Age. We also discussed current cases and trends as reflected by cases accepted for hearing and recently decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Наступні лекції Школи американського права відбудуться 20-22 квітня 2018 року на тему «Law and Regulation in the Technology Sector». Нашим лектором буде професор Дана Вагнер – колишній керівник юридичного департаменту компанії GOOGLE.
